News: Luxor receives a high profile Japanese tourism delegation

Governor of Luxor Tarek Saad Al-Din received a tourism delegation from Japan, including chairmen of 50 major Japanese travel agencies, to asses the security situation in the governorate.

The visit comes in preparation for Japan to resume its tourism activities in Luxor.

Last August, Egyptian Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou and the Japanese ambassador to Cairo Toshiro Suzuki agreed upon removing the ban, which was imposed by the Japanese government in August 2013, following several incidents of violence in Egypt.

Zaazou confirmed the importance of Japanese tourism to Egypt stressing that the Ministry of Tourism would offer many incentives to encourage Japanese tourists to visit Egypt, in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
