News, France: Egypt Participates at Salon Mondial du TourismeToday
CAIRO: An Egyptian tourism delegation headed for France Wednesday to take part in the 41at edition of the Salon Mondial du Tourisme; an International tourism fair in Paris March 17-20, Al Ahram reported.
Representatives from EgyptAir along with tour operators from leading Egyptian travel agencies are set to offer travel deals at reasonable prices to encourage French tourists to visit Egypt during the upcoming Easter holidays, the tourism adviser at the Egyptian embassy in Paris Riham Wahid was quoted by Al Ahram Wednesday.
Over 600 exhibitors from all over the world alongside 28,000 visitors are expected to participate in the four-day event, which will take place at Porte de Versailles in Paris, according to the fair’s website.
The Egyptian tourism office in Paris will hold tete-a-tete talks with International tour operators on means of boosting tourism to Egypt, said Wahid.
Tourism industry in Egypt was badly imapcted following the Russian plane that crashed over Sinai late Oct. killing all 224 passengers aboard. During the past few months, Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazoua has launched several promotion campaigns to restore the country’s second most important source of hard currency.
